This page is about my granddaughter Emilie -- our first grandchild. I love her so much -- one of the greatest gifts I ever received was to become a grandmother.
Emilie is in my eyes a miracle. She was born 9 weeks premature because of her mother -- my oldest daughter Lotte -- who was suffering from a kidney disease. Even though she was measuring only 41 cm and weighing merely 1128g, she was determined to enter this strange world. The first time I saw her, shortly after her birth, she opened her eyes and looked straight at me, as if to say: "Don't worry Granny, I'll make it". And she did. She is full of energy, eager to learn and wants new input every day.
This is the story about her first two months...
Granny's wish for you - Emilie.
Comfort on difficult days,
Smiles when sadness intrudes,
Rainbows to follow the clouds,
Laughter to kiss your lips,
Sunsets to warm your heart,
Gentle hugs when spirits sag,
Friendships to brighten your being,
Beauty for your eyes to see,
Confidence for when you doubt,
Faith so that you can believe,
Courage to know yourself,
Patience to accept the truth.
